To achieve greater national and international success, we joined forces in January 2013 from three regional crews in Chemnitz, Dresden, and Leipzig to form The Saxonz. In 2014, 2015, and 2019, we won the German preliminary round of the Battle of the Year and received the Hanna Johannes Arras Foundation Art Prize in 2016. Since then, we have collaborated with various institutions outside the breaking scene, such as the Hellerau Festival Theatre, the Semperoper opera house, and the Saxon State Chancellery. We have also initiated numerous events of our own, including EAST, the Saxonz Dance Off, and the XXL Training Session. However, traveling together to competitions within the scene is a significant part of our shared identity. We have participated in events in Belgium, Great Britain, Italy, Austria, Russia, South Korea, Ukraine, and the USA. Since 2016, we have operated our own dance studio at St. Petersburger Str. 9 in Dresden. With this, we want to expand the promotion of young talent and provide regional dancers with optimal conditions to practice, exchange ideas and find a second home.
