We don’t actually have any yet, but here’s some things you might be curious about.

I go by Wustyles. I started breaking in 2005 in Baltimore, where I joined my college’s “breakdancing” Club. Fell in love with not just breaking but many styles as there were dancers of many styles attending our sessions.
Since then I’ve helped organize events, sessions and taught classes as well as doing a lot of community work around the DC, MD, VA area.
I’ve traveled all over and had that familiar issue of trying to find something that’s still really underground and word of mouth. -
So far it’s only one person populating all the information by hand, so yeah, it might be a bit sparse. It’s hard to know everything….unless you’re Dance Deets (RIP) and smart enough to program a good app.

This is more of a way to connect sub culture, specifically in the underground dance space
Having been in the DMV for a long time, there’s very small pockets of dancers in each style, maybe except Breaking, Popping and House. This has made the rest of us kind of floating. We’re big enough for a community but not enough to sustain specified style events. There’s a lot of All Style.
In a lot of the party spaces we created there was overlap and well, people can get along and learn from each other. A Lot.
So this is a way for the dancers who only know one thing and only know that part of the community in their city to branch out and make new friends. And learn new things. And have a good time. Because gatekeeping is good for keeping the corporate r*pists away. But I believe if we share the authentic info then we grow stronger as a larger community, rather than just pieces of a grander community. Also, Street dance has had a long history of Black Erasure and this is one of the ways I think we could help cut that snake off at the head. If we share more real history and real connection, we will all be able to preserve and grow this thing we love for generations.

I’m not.
Not Yet.I don’t think the information needs to be held behind a price.
also, there’s like….no traffic yet. YET.
If this starts to be a good place for everyone to connect, then I will be happy my work is getting use.
Here’s to screaming into the void……

All of the information I’ve gathered is publicly accessible. Whether instagram, websites, posts, facebook, it’s all information that, as far as I’m able to discern, is information that the people posting it would like to spread as much as possible.
If you have an issue with information that you see on here, please do reach out.
